![]() ![]() Is a Casino a lot lighter than a Dot or a Sheraton? I did find one online dealer that listed a lot of new Gibson ES-335 models with their weights and they all are at least a pound heavier than my Dot, so I guess I shouldn't complain. I'm particularly curious about 335 style models. I'd be curious to know what other people's guitars weigh, both Epiphones and other brands. I guess Les Pauls can weigh as much as 10 lbs depending on the materials. According to a lot of the posts I've read on the internet that is actually on the light side for an electric guitar. The 1965 E230TD Epiphone Casino that John acquired had a double-cutaway semi-hollow f-hole body, P-90 pickups, vintage tuners with small buttons, trapeze tailpiece and originally a sunburst finish. On my bathroom scale it comes in at around 7.5 lbs. I'm a little surprised at how heavy it is though. I'll be replacing the pickups and other electronics, but I'm very happy with this guitar otherwise. ![]() I really like 335 style guitars and this one is in pretty nice shape. This model is frequently confused for the limited run '65 Elitist Casino and can be differ. I've done a few searches and haven't found much discussion about this. The Epiphone Elitist Casino features a single piece slim taper 'D' profile mahogany neck, traditional headstock with no inlay, 'Elite' or 'Elitist' on the truss rod cover and parallelogram fretboard inlays. ![]()
